Last week I shared some ways to apply a creative eye makeup look. And what goes better with an awesome makeup look than a beautiful smile?
First off, let me just say that all of your smiles are beautiful already. Every single one of you. I am just going to show ways to brighten what is already amazing.
Now, there are many products out there that help whiten your teeth. But I am going to show 5 easy and also natural ways to whiten your teeth!
1. Baking soda. I have actually used this product before and it really worked. Baking soda is a natural deodorizer, which means it gets rid of unpleasant smells. It also cleans teeth on its own so you can easily replace your toothpaste with it. Another cool thing about baking soda is that it can replace mineral in the teeth that have been lost, leaving your teeth healthy, white and shiny! *TIPS* When I used baking soda I mixed it with water and spearmint oil so I could get rid of the weird taste in has. Also, be sure to rinse thoroughly after brushing.
2.Strawberries. Yep, I said strawberries. Strawberry seeds remove surface plaque and stains.Cut the strawberries width way and rub them on your teeth after brushing and rinse afterwards. Rinsing the berry of is key because if the acid of the strawberries is left on than it can start to eat away at the enamel of your teeth.
3.Lemon juice. It uses citric acid to whiten the teeth. you can also mix it with salt to get rid of stains on your teeth. DO NOT SWALLOW and be sure to rinse so it wont eat at your enamel.
4.Coconut oil. “oil pulling” has been used to clean teeth for thousands on years. You take a tablespoon of oil and put it in your mouth swish it around until it melts and then swish it around more. You should continue the swishing for at least 10-15 minutes. Then spit the oil out in the trash. Do not spit it in the sink or it could clog the drain. Also, do not swallow because the oil is “pulling” the toxins from your body and swallowing them would put them back in. Then brush and floss as you normally would.
5.Eat your vegetables. Carrots, celery, cucumbers, broccoli and other vegetables that are high in Vitamin C remove stains and discoloring. They act like a natural toothbrush and sweep away plaque and tartar build up. Vitamin C also reduces the bacteria that lives and spreads in your mouth to improve your breath. Plus, you are eating healthy foods and helping your body as well as your teeth!
I hope these tips will help brighten your smile. I’d love to hear comments on how these worked and even new ideas! And don’t forget to smile!
